The confidentiality obligation towards parents for a psychologist extends to the extent that it does not compromise the therapeutic relationship with the child or adolescent. Psychologists are ethically and legally bound to maintain confidentiality with their minor clients, unless there is a risk of harm to the client or others. However, psychologists may disclose information to parents if it is deemed necessary for the well-being of the child, such as in cases of abuse or neglect. It is important for psychologists to communicate the limits of confidentiality to both the child and the parents at the beginning of the therapeutic relationship. **
